A Collection Inspired by Dance
For the past 10 years I have been invited to be the residential artist with contemporary dance companies in a variety of theatres and dance centres. This experience brings a fresh dynamic to my work. These mixed media pieces express my response to the visual experience of observing the collaborative creation of ideas from the warm up exercises, to improvisation and rehearsals, through to the final performances.
My work here is the final result of a lot of experimentation and as an abstract painter the images evolve. Performance is the trigger and the inspiration. My work is not a literal portrayal but an emotionally expressed response.
